Free Qualifications through DWP and Jobcenter Plus.

In partnership with DWP you can access any of our qualifications free (at no cost to you) through DWP and your local Jobcentre Plus if you are in the London and Essex area.

Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools

This course will  enable learners to gain the necessary practical skills and knowledge in order to become teaching assistants in schools.  You will develop your knowledge in areas including child and young person development, safeguarding, and health and safety.

Level 3 Award in Education and Training 

This is a course for someone who is looking at going into teaching, which can be within the age group of from 16+ and over. 
There is no specific entry requirement to start the course which can be done online. This is a course which has replaced the PTLLS.
So if you are new to the world of teaching this is the course for you.

Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training 

This course will help you to develop the practical teaching skills and, prepare teachers to work in a wide range of contexts. This course is designed for individuals teaching in both the private training industry and educational institutes.

RQF Level 4 Certificate in Learning, Development and Pedagogy.


This is a teaching qualification which has a teaching/training practice requirement. It is an ‘in service’ qualification designed for those working or wishing to work as teachers/trainers in England. All learners must have access to 36 hours of teaching and there must be a minimum of three observations of practice, totalling a minimum of three hours.

Level 4 Diploma in Education and Training Management.

This qualification is intended to develop learners'practical teaching skills and prepare them to work in a wide range of educational and training contexts.
The Level 4 units provide an introduction to relevant education and training principles and
practices.

The Level 5 units will develop and enhance knowledge and skills in the areas of leading change, effective performance, lifelong learning, resource management, planning and accountability, reflective practice, professional development and team leadership.

This qualification is equivalent to the Certificate of Education (CertEd). It is also a good alternative to the Postgraduate Certificate in Education. This Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training will enable you to apply for
Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
